First Steps

Upon entering the office, our receptionist will greet you and assist you in completing the initial Patient Information form. If you have previously downloaded and completed this form, the receptionist will collect it at this time. If not, you will be given time to complete it before seeing the doctor. This paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition.

Next you will have a consultation with one of our doctors to discuss your health-related problems and concerns. If appropriate, the doctor will recommend physical examination and perhaps x-ray examination, or referral to another specialist.

Treatment Options

At Olympic Spine & Sports Therapy we believe informed consent is not only a right but also a necessity to accept a patient for care. Because our practice is founded on the principle that we should “do unto others as we want them to do unto us” we are committed to complete and effective communication. To accomplish great results we have learned that it is essential for both the providers and the patients to have agreement in their expectations and priorities.

If you have chosen relief-only care for your condition, all treatment will be aimed at reducing your symptoms as rapidly as possible. Whether you are seeing one provider or multiple providers in this office, the key result is the consistency of treatment. To get the best and most efficient results, your treatment plan, both in the office and at home, must be followed. This may require daily visits or two to three visits per week for a time.

If you have chosen relief and correction care, the first treatment objective remains the same, to reduce your symptoms as rapidly as possible. However, instead of discharging you from care when you feel sufficiently improved, your treatment emphasis will shift to correcting, rehabilitative strengthening, and stabilizing your condition. In other words: regaining your health to support your quality of life and reduce the likelihood of your condition returning or worsening. Correcting your condition as near normal as possible requires the use of treatment procedures that transcend symptom reduction and work to restore structure and function. These treatments may include the following:

  • Physical therapy treatment – exercises, stretches, and therapies

  • Chiropractic care – posture corrective body weighting, traction, and exercises

  • Massage therapy

  • Laser therapy
