Before I started receiving treatment at Olympic Spine & Sports Therapy, I was unable to participate in hiking, snow skiing, and working out due to my back pain. I couldn’t even sleep through the night. My job was in jeopardy because I couldn’t perform the tasks I was assigned. Now, after eleven months of treatment, my life is somewhat back to normal! I no longer have back pain. I am able to sleep, go to the gym, hike, and I am working at a very physically demanding job!

I came to Olympic Spine & Sports Therapy when I started experiencing a pinching pain in my lower back. This concerned me because my father has also suffered from back problems for years so I wanted to take care of the problem before it got out of control. Since treating at Olympic Spine & Sports Therapy, my pain is gone, I’m able to golf again and have more energy than ever. I didn’t realize how fatigued my body was until I started receiving treatments and feeling the difference. Surprisingly enough, my allergies have diminished as well; I no longer have to take Claritin just to get me through the day.

I have been running the Mukilteo YMCA Skate Park for 3-1/2 years. In November of 2007 I developed what I thought was an insignificant pain in my low back, but it never went away. In January of 2008 the pain got so severe I was barely able to walk, much less run the park and skate. After continuing treatment with Dr. Shelly and his associates at OSST, my condition gradually improved. I just turned 45 years old and am back skating and running the park, thanks to Olympic Spine & Sports Therapy. Thank you for your continued support of my good health.

For the past two years I have been experiencing chronic low back pain. I had a herniated disc between my L4 and L5 region of my low back. The pain was excruciating and was radiating into my right leg causing numbness and tingling. It totally affected every aspect of my life; I would get up in the morning to make breakfast and five minutes into it I wanted to go back to bed. I just wanted my life back. That’s when my mother told me about an exciting new treatment called decompression therapy. It was a last resort before surgery, so I decided to give it a go. After the first session I got off the table and was in euphoria, I had no pain at all. Since receiving decompression therapy treatments the pain in my low back, as well, as the pain and numbness in my leg has been greatly reduced.

For the past seven years I had spent most of my time in bed from chronic fatigue. This clinic pulled me out of it. I had come to Olympic Spine & Sports Therapy with the idea that I just wanted to maintain my spine; I had no idea that it would resolve my chronic fatigue or correct my posture. I didn’t even know what postural rehabilitation was before I started treatment. It has also helped stop the degeneration process that was starting in my spine, and I have great range of motion now. I used to feel so stiff and locked up. Life in general is much easier now. I am able to travel, run, and cross pattern with no trouble. I really feel that the posture correction helped eliminate the majority of my symptoms.

Before I began seeing Dr. Shelley in 1991, I had been getting a headache nearly every day. Dr. Shelley took x-rays of my back and showed me that my spine had a lateral curvature that shouldn’t be there. After about six months, a new series of x-rays showed that my spine had lost most of its excess curvature, and the frequency of my headaches had dropped to nearly a zero. Since that time, Dr. Shelley has been seeing me about three times a month to maintain the health of my spine. Recently, however, my headaches began recurring, and x-rays showed that my spine had drifted away from its optimum shape. We decided to step up the treatment with a program of exercise, adjustment, and traction. I’m happy to report the success of this treatment, as I have had only one headache in the past two months.

I have had chronic low back pain for thirteen years. I feel like it first started to flare up after the delivery of my second child. Then one day I was playing with my kids and did a twisting motion with my low back and something just gave out, it was excruciating. I tried everything for the pain; cortisone shots, physical therapy, acupuncture, osteopathic treatments. You name it I tried it. I had to give up everything because of the pain. I decided that I would give decompression a shot—it was my last hope. After about thirteen sessions I started to notice a difference. I began to regain my mobility, strength, and my pain has been greatly reduced. Other than decompression, the doctors decided that they wanted to address my pain from all angles. We combined chiropractic, physical therapy, and a home exercise plan along with the decompression therapy. It worked great; not only did my low back improve but I totally regained motion in my neck. This was the only place I found that really looked at the whole picture. They addressed my entire spine instead of just spot treating the injured area.

My issues all started at home, I had tripped over a footstool and seriously tweaked my low back. Luckily, I had recently been reading up on decompression therapy and decided to look in to it further. Dr. Shelley examined me and found that I was a candidate for decompression therapy. After the first session I felt great and from then on I just kept progressing with each treatment. The pain is totally gone and I feel 100% better, the results are amazing. Overall I had a wonderful experience and the staff at Olympic Spine & Sports Therapy is very friendly and efficient.

As an auto technician I am constantly bending, lifting and twisting. So you can only imagine the world of hurt I was in when my low back gave out. Five minutes into standing the pain would get so bad that I would start shaking and it would become very difficult to breath. I later found out that my L5 vertebra in my low back was sliding forward off of my sacral base, OUCH! I needed immediate treatment. It was decided that decompression therapy was going to be my best bet for alleviating my symptoms. After the first treatment I had a 35% improvement, it was amazing! I feel great now; I’m able to do my usual activities and so much more. I also want everyone to know that I received wonderful service from the staff. They really care about their patients. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking treatment.

I bent down to move a booth a few inches when the pain in my back hit. A friend told me about what Olympic Spine & Sports Therapy had done for her and I signed up for therapy. As my treatment progressed to freedom of pain, I experienced a flare-up. My medical doctor provided no relief but Olympic Spine & Sports Therapy came to the rescue. Just one treatment of decompression therapy decreased the flare-up pain from severe to very low pain. The addition of massage and an exercise regiment has me back doing everyday activities. I thank the staff for restoring me back to enjoying a normal everyday life. However, I am always aware that I need to maintain the care of my spine.

It had been a long time since I rock and rolled and my wife's company was having a party at the Experience Music Project in Seattle. I danced the night away like I was thirty years younger. Two days later I could hardly move my neck. I started taking over-the-counter pain relievers which would allow me about two hours of sleep and then I would wake up and have to take more. I am a landscaper so the pain was severely restricting me in my work; it got so bad that it hurt just to shut my truck door. Since receiving decompression therapy, my neck pain has reduced by 80%! The "rice crispies" in my neck are also going away. It feels great to have my life back!
